Fredericksburg, VA, August 12, 2021-Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg, a partnership between Mary Washington Healthcare (MWHC) and Radiologic Associates of Fredericksburg has announced the arrival of their new dual source CT scanner, which adds to the existing capabilities of its Advanced Diagnostic Imaging Technology.

Dr. Neil B. Green, physician director of cardiac imaging for Radiologic Associates of Fredericksburg says, “Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg’s new dual-source computed tomography (CT) scanner will deliver dramatically faster tests and sharper images, including ’motion-free‘ images for rapid diagnosis of heart disease. It will also open up enticing possibilities for new imaging capabilities—all at a fraction of the standard radiation dose.”

Radiologic Associates of Fredericksburg (RAF) is pleased to announce its ranking among the Exemplary 80 in the 2019 group practice survey conducted by Radiology Business Journal (RBJ). This is the 12th annual recognition for Radiologic Associates of Fredericksburg by Radiology Business Journal. 

RBJ’s survey, previously known as the Radiology 100 survey, was changed to the Exemplary 80 in 2019’s survey, to reflect that “…radiology is evolving, consolidating and all the while innovating in this time of transition from volume to value across U.S. healthcare.”

Robin Gwaltney, Akhil Khetarpal and Heather Newman. Dr. Gwaltney is Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology and completed her women’s imaging fellowship at Ellen Shaw de Paredes Institute of Women’s Imaging, after which she joined Radiology of Huntsville, Alabama. Dr. Gwaltney will continue her dedicated service to women at both the Imaging Center for Women in Fredericksburg and North Stafford.

Fredericksburg, VA (PRUnderground) November 26th, 2018. Radiology Business has once again named Virginia-based professional physician group Radiologic Associates of Fredericksburg (RAF) among the top 100 radiology groups in its eleventh annual ranking of the largest private radiology practices in the United States. The annual Radiology 100 survey ranks America’s top radiology practices based on the practice’s total number of FTE (full-time equivalent) radiologists. RAF has moved up in the rankings from #89 to #75.

Beginning in March of 2018, Anthem will require that most high-end imaging studies be completed in a non-hospital-based outpatient setting. The new rules will require that MRIs, CTs, and PET/CTs be referred to locations such as those available through Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg instead of being provided in a hospital or location billing as a hospital. Our community is fortunate that Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg has many locations in the area, including those at Lee’s Hill, Central Fredericksburg, and North Stafford.

Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg is eagerly awaiting new PET/CT equipment that will further improve the region’s imaging capabilities for local cancer patients, said Practice Administrator Chris Snyder.
